Rueda Uk is an institute of excellence for dancers of Cuban salsa in the United Kingdom.
Founded in 2006 it is dedicated to providing:-
- a programme of quality dance instruction through structured workshops and classes.
- amateur and professional performance opportunities for dance Students,
- crucial life skills necessary to develop discipline, commitment, self-esteem, confidence and teamwork.
Rueda Uk founded by its owner and principal Michael Mandrel began a program of studio workshops and classes in 2006 at the Millennium Arena in South London. It has continued to expand and now offers a performing arts disciplin for dancers aspiring to showcase with Michael and his rueda showcase troupe 'Michael Y Los Mandrelles'.
The programs are structured, creative and challenging. They are supported by a methodical teacher training program ensuring a high quality of teaching staff. Quality dance instruction is provided by experienced teachers and performers and invitations to guest artists add a stimulating and unique flair to the program.
The students develop crucial social skills necessary to cope with the demands of day to day living. The dance disciplines help to strengthen their minds, physiques, growth and confidence. Those aspiring to advance and explore the world of entertainment are welcomed to participate in lavish end of course showcases and demonstrations.
The institute recognises that while it grows and touches the lives of many. Our main objective will always remain the same believing that regardless of one’s background, race, culture, wealth, shape and size, everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joy and bonding strength of Rueda.
In the years to come Rueda Uk hopes to affiliate other associated establishments, teachers and dancers. It aims to consolidate a unilateral structure of dance disciplines, share in common interests and expand to strengthen its appeal throughout the United Kingdom.
